Appointment Terms and Conditions
We look forward to assisting you with your legal needs. In order to best assist you we have set up policies and procedures to meet your needs as well as deal with often unexpected things that come up while doing legal work. If you choose to bring your case to us after our consultation,your consultation fee will become a credit towards the attorney fees for your case.
Appointment times are ranges. Richard will call you to start your appointment at some point during the first 15 minutes of your 30 minute block. Please be attentive to your phone or device during this timeframe. Richard will only call once. If you miss his call or it is a half hour after your appointment time starts, feel free to call our office to reschedule (616) 235-4577.
Appointments may last a full 30 minutes , but others may conclude sooner depending on individual circumstances. You are paying for the opportunity to talk with a lawyer and receive advice not for a specific amount of time. We will always strive to fully answer your questions as best as possible in the time allotted, but some cases will require additional time and information beyond an initial consultation to give a comprehensive answer to your questions.
Richard and all our staff are fluent in Spanish and English. If you need an interpreter for a language other than Spanish or English, please make sure to arrange this ahead of your appointment.
Please prepare for your appointment by gathering all relevant information for your case. This could include Alien / A numbers, USCIS receipts, date of injury for personal injury cases, doctor’s names, etc. Thorough preparation ensures you can get the most out of your appointment time. Consultation fees for appointments made online are $150 dollars for non-detained clients and $200 for detained clients. Please make sure you pay the correct fee. If you pay less than your required fee you will be charged the difference on your card or account on file or if this is not possible it could lead to your appointment being canceled. If you have any questions, feel free to contact our office. Fees must be paid before consultations can be scheduled.
Cancellation Policy
If you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment, you can call our office (616) 235-4577 or use the links in event description or reminder emails. Up to 48 hours (2 days) before your appointment time, you may cancel or reschedule at no additional cost. At 48 hours (2 days) or less from your appointment time, you may reschedule, but if you cancel your appointment the consultation fee will not be refundable.
Emergencies, unexpected hearings, and other events arise due to the nature of our work. In the event that we have to cancel your appointment for some reason, we will contact you as soon as possible to let you know and we will try to reschedule you as soon as possible. Please remember that Richard may not call you exactly at your appointment time.
